About Me

My photo
Emily
I view my life in 3 acts. Emily Kaufman was the girl growing up in Manhattan in the fifties and sixties. She went to Clark University in Worcester, Mass and lived in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Seattle doing the hippie/peace/love/protest thing in the sixties and seventies. Emily Saur lived in Northampton, Mass. and Davis, CA and was the more conventional wife, mother of two, and elementary school teacher in the eighties, nineties and early 2000s. Emily Gallo married David who is a professor emeritus of economics, moved to Chico, CA, and retired from teaching in 2006. I started writing screenplays and television and moved into novels. David, Gracie (our Schillerhound) and I now divide our time between two and a half acres of gardens, orchards, and cats and a 750 square foot condo on the beach in Carpinteria, CA.

BOOK REVIEWS

"[Gallo's] writing style is assured and meshes quite well with her gift at storytelling."

"Emily Gallo has that talent essential to all good fiction writers; she creates interesting characters the reader really cares about in unique and captivating situations. Through the less-than-fortunate life circumstances of some of her characters, Gallo is able to give an inside look at how current social policies impact real-world situations, offering a greater perspective that is often overlooked."

"I loved the quirkiness of the characters and how they intertwined into a fascinating tapestry of people's lives. Great imagery and a fun read full of heart."

"Gallo weaves events into this story of hope and reconciliation that warms the heart"
